Occoquan is a historic town along the Occoquan River in Northern Virginia, just 22 miles south of Washington DC.
One of the best places to visit is the Mill House Museum and learn about the history of Occoquan through a display of documents, photographs and other artifacts. Take a stroll down the Occoquan Waterfront and dine at the largest restaurant in town, Madigan's Waterfront, and take in the prime location on the river.
Of course, there's always plenty of shopping to do. Historic Occoquan is home to a variety of shops, including art galleries, antique shops, clothing boutiques, jewelry stores and more. And don't forget to swing by Mom's Apple Pie Bakery for some homemade dessert!
And make sure you take in the Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge while you're at it!
