A great place in the northern Shenandoah Valley region for music lovers is the Garth Newell Music Center in Warm Springs in Bath County. The picturesque concert hall with superb acoustics allow musicians to perform chamber music as it was intended – in an intimate and informal setting for small friendly audiences. With more than 50 concerts each year, they are one of the most active chamber music organizations in the country.
The Shenandoah Valley Music Festival features weekend performances throughout the summer at Orkney Springs in Shenandoah County. The festival site is the grounds of a historic mineral springs spa hotel.
More talent awaits you at the Staunton Music Festival in Staunton. Enjoy a week of Classical, Baroque, and Chamber music each August, followed by International Weekend each September.
Bring a picnic, your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy music under the stars in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. While you're here check out the arts and crafts of the Valley.
You can camp out under the stars, too, at the Campground at Orkney Springs or stay at the elegant Orkney Springs Hotel.
Other attractions in Shenandoah County include three underground caverns — Shenandoah Caverns, Endless Caverns and Crystal Caverns.
American Celebration on Parade is truly a one-of-a-kind museum not to missed. It includes parade floats from the Rose Parade, Presidential Inaugurals, and other national celebrations.
