Lots for the Ladies in Fredericksburg

After summer is over and the kids have started school again, plan a few days away with the girls to relax, recharge, and reconnect. Crisp fall air, brightly colored foliage and a charming small town combine to create the perfect escape in Fredericksburg. The area has a special blend of history and culture, shopping and scenery - the place for a girl to loose herself … and find herself again, all in a fall weekend.

    Day 1:

After checking in at the Fredericksburg Hospitality House or Hilton Garden Inn begin your time away with some leisurely shopping and dining in Central Park or at the Spotsylvania Towne Centre - Fredericksburg's two large shopping districts near your hotel. Then refresh a bit in your room before setting off to the Riverside Dinner Theater for a delightful evening of live musical theater at Virginia's largest dinner theater.

    Day 2:

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel or at one of our many chef-owned restaurants in Downtown Fredericksburg before you set off to Gari Melcher Home and Studio at Belmont, or Ferry Farm. Then take in lunch at The Virginia Deli and an afternoon Trolley Tour to acquaint you with the vast amounts of history in Fredericksburg and point out some modern favorites such as our outstanding candy store - the Olde Time Lollipops and Fudge Factory. A good dose of homemade candy and nostalgic favorites should energize you as you set out to shop in our local art galleries and studios. Make sure you visit the Fredericksburg Center for the Arts, LibertyTown Arts and the Community Mosaic Mural to revive your creative spirit. Complete your day downtown with a fantastic dinner at Bistro Bethem where good wine, good food, and good company are sure to make special memories.

    Day 3:

Sleep late, check out of your hotel, and get in your car this morning to head out to the Lake Anna Winery for a tasting and a picnic, or to the Blue & Gray Brewing Company to sample their famous fall micro-brew named Oktoberfest. Whichever your beverage of choice, you'll enjoy the fall air and surely feel miles away from responsibility while sipping spirits and touring these two fantastic facilities … a lovely end to a lovely fall adventure.
