Make your escape with the grapes!

Day 1:
Travel to the beautiful Virginia Piedmont region between Charlottesville and the Blue Ridge Mountains and get right down to business with an afternoon tour and tasting at
White Hall Vineyards. Boasting a spectacular view of the Blue Ridge Mountains to the west, White Hall Vineyards has a lovely tasting room and state-of-the-art production facility backed by an amiable staff who will make you feel right at home. The 800-foot elevation and constant mountain breeze make sipping a glass of wine on the deck after a tour and tasting a wonderful experience.
Head east to Charlottesville and select dinner from an array of cuisines.
l’ etoille features a French-inspired menu and cool surroundings while
TEN is modern Japanese fusion with a hip urban vibe. The very cosmopolitan
Blue Light Grill mixes seafood and Asian dishes with international flair. At
Hamilton’s you’ll find inspired continental cuisine and live music. Bed down in style at one of the area’s outstanding Bed & Breakfasts, such as
Cedar Spring Inn,
Foxfield Inn or the
Inn at Court Square.

Day 2:
Wake up to a delicious breakfast and good company before setting out for a day’s adventure. Start the day with a tour of Thomas Jefferson’s masterpiece,
Monticello. Mr. Jefferson’s genius is revealed in every nook and cranny of this historic home – and the sparkling new Visitor Center will reveal much about our third president in ways you never imagined. Monticello can be an all-morning experience, so you’ll be ready for a good, traditional Virginia lunch just down the hill at
Michie Tavern, which has welcomed travelers for more than 200 years.
Return to Charlottesville for a stroll across the historic
Lawn at the University of Virginia and experience Jefferson’s classic Academical Village. Do some serious shopping downtown along Main Street Mall where you’ll find shops like
Vivian’s brimming with things that scream “take me home with you!” End your day with a splurge for dinner at nearby
Keswick Hall,
Clifton or
The Boar’s Head.

Day 3:
Ease your way home along one of Virginia’s beautiful back roads, taking in the scenery as you go. Keep an eye peeled for good antique stores, farmers’ markets and produce stands where you can take a bit of Virginia goodness back home with you.
