    Keswick Vineyards

    Day One:

Travel to the beautiful Virginia Piedmont region between Charlottesville and the Blue Ridge Mountains along the Monticello Wine Trail. Choose the Eastern Trail for a tour and tasting at Keswick Vineyards or the Northern Trail for a sample at White Hall Vineyards. The expanse of open space make Keswick an enjoyable place for families to picnic with amazing mountain views. Likewise boasting spectacular mountain views, White Hall Vineyards sits at an elevation of 800 feet and offers a constant breeze, making sipping a glass of wine on the deck a wonderful experience.

Head east to Charlottesville and select dinner from an array of cuisines. l’etoile features a French-inspired menu and cool surroundings while TEN  is modern Japanese fusion with a hip urban vibe. The very cosmopolitan Blue Light Grill  mixes seafood and Asian dishes with international flair. At Hamiltons' you’ll find inspired continental cuisine and live music. Bed down in style at one of the area’s outstanding Bed & Breakfasts, such as Cedar Spring Inn, Foxfield Inn or the Inn at Court Square.

    Day Two:

Wake up to a delicious breakfast and good company before setting out for a day’s adventure. Begin with a tour of Thomas Jefferson’s masterpiece, Monticello. Mr. Jefferson’s genius is revealed in every nook and cranny of this historic home – and the Visitor Center will reveal much about our third president in ways you never imagined. Monticello can be an all-morning experience, so you’ll be ready for a good, traditional Virginia lunch just down the hill at Michie Tavern, which has welcomed travelers for more than 200 years.

As you're already on the Southern Trail portion of the Monticello Wine Trail, choose to visit Jefferson VineyardsTrump Winery, or maybe Blenheim Vineyards. All of them are just south of Monticello and each is esteemed in its own right; you won't go wrong in having to choose.

Return to Charlottesville for a stroll across the historic Lawn at the University of Virginia, Jefferson’s classic Academical Village. Shop downtown along Main Street Mall where you’ll find the most delicious sweet treats from Sweethaus Cupcake Cafe, and fun shops like Vivian’s that are brimming with things that scream “take me home with you!” End your day with a splurge for dinner at nearby Clifton or The Boar’s Head.

    Day Three:

Ease your way home along one of Virginia’s beautiful back roads, taking in the scenery and maybe a winery or two as you go. Keep an eye peeled for good antique stores, farmers’ markets and produce stands where you can take a bit of Virginia goodness back home with you.
