    Martinsville - July 13 - Bass Series Fishing Tournament - Great news for all the fisherman out there!

    Clarksville - July16-18 - Virginia Lake Festival - Children will enjoy tethered hot air balloon rides as the event kicks off Thursday night. Sand sculptors begin their artistry on Friday morning and a live band and a sampling of food vendors round out the day. Saturday morning starts at dawn as balloonists skim the lake and 200+ vendors line the street, including a juried arts & crafts show and a wide choice of delicious foods.

    Alton - July 17 - Tire Rack Ultimate Track Car Challenge - With our annual no-holds-barred track competition, we aim to find the fastest machine on four wheels. Bring your raucous, flame-belching beast to the track and see if you can best the competition.

    Danville - July 18 - AAF Tank Museum Radio Control Tank Battles - See Radio Control Tankers Battle for control of a Belguim town. Realistic sound - hear the engines of these small monsters rev-up for battle action. Battles, Campaigns are fought and won. Tankers from all over the US come to this 6,000 sq ft battlefield to see who becomes the victor.


    Chesapeake Bay

    Montross - July 15 - Art & Wine at the Westmoreland County Museum & The Inn at Montross - Join us at 5 pm in Westmoreland County Museum’s original building for art, a “Meet and Greet” with the featured artist, and hors d'oeuvres. Followed by wine, dinner, or a light bite in the Inn at Montross located next door.

    Montross - July 18 - Music on the Cliffs - Grab your lawn chair, pack a picnic dinner, and enjoy some toe-tapping traditional and new bluegrass music. Coolers welcome but please, no alcoholic beverages.

    Big Stone Gap - July 2-4, 9-11, 16-18, 23-25, 30-Aug 1 - Trail of the Lonesome Pine Outdoor Drama - The Trail of the Lonesome Pine is the longest running outdoor drama in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the official Outdoor Drama of Virginia.

    Wise - July 10-11 - Chillin and Grillin In The Glades BBQ Contest - KCBS sanctioned BBQ Contest and Music Festival in downtown Wise. There are activities that are a focused on children in the Kid’s Corner like face painting, carnival games, and fire truck rides. There will be a Cornhole Tournament for people to compete in for prizes. There is also the coveted crown of Miss BarbeCutie.

    Tazewell - July 10-12 - Tazewell County Old Time & Bluegrass Fiddlers' Convention - Musicians of all ages will compete in Youth Competition and individual instrument categories and duets.

    Richlands - July 11 - Virginia Mountain Music Festival - Virginia Mountain Music Festival to feature performances by nationally recognized talent as well as regional and local favorites.

    Cedar Bluff - July 17-19 - Drums of the Painted Mountain Pow Wow - There will be a special performance by Arvel Bird and others. Demonstrations, Native American Dancing, storytelling, Native American Arts, Handmade Crafts, Special Programs and good food will be some of the things you can look forward to enjoying at this event.

    Duffield - July 18 - Railroad Day at Natural Tunnel State Park - All aboard! The chairlift that will take you down to the mouth of the naturally made tunnel.
