Tazewell - June 1 - Back of the Dragon Day: "The Awakening" - One of the main attractions this year is Monster Stunt Team as well as all major motorcycle and sports car companies showcasing their vehicles. The bike show will be put together by the Iron Titans Motorcycle Club.
Norton - June 10-15 - Best Friend Festival - Fun for the whole family. Kid's can enjoy painting a trash can, tie-dying a t-shirt, entering a karaoke contest, riding the kiddie train, playing in the large sandbox, and having fun at "A Kid's Place". Senior Citizen's come out and enjoy a free lunch, bingo, a Spring Variety show, cakewalks, face-painting, music, and more. This year's festival also features gospel singing, a picnic in the park, Legends of the Opry, a teen dance, a car show, kid's fishing day, basketball, 5K run, flea market vendors, and much more.
Big Stone Gap - June 20-22, 27-29 - Trail of the Lonesome Pine - Trail of the Lonesome Pine Outdoor Drama is Virginia's Official Outdoor Drama and the third longest running in the nation.
Breaks - June 21-23 - Echoes in the Canyon Civil War Re-enactment - This annual event highlights the Civil War in southwest Virginia. Exhibits and demonstrations of Civil War era ways of life, as well as battle re-enactments can be seen during this event.
Central Virginia
Richmond - June 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 - Sunday Summer Reenactments of Patrick Henry's "Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death" Speech - The Patrick Henry Committee invites you to bring your friends and family to a free, public reenactment of the Second Virginia Convention of March of 1775. In the presence of over 100 of colonial Virginia's leaders, including George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Richard Henry Lee, Patrick Henry defended liberty, uttering the immortal words, "Give me liberty or give me death!"
Gordonsville - June 8 - Bull Riding Rodeo - Competitors from across the U.S. come to compete and try their hand at staying on some of the top bulls in the country. Several of these Bulls have been a part of the PBR Finals in Las Vegas, Nevada. Also be sure that you do not miss the Ladies Barrel Racing Competition!

Charlottesville - June 14-16 - Kids Go Fish! -During this three-day event, kids age 12 and under will be allowed to fish the Saunders-Monticello Trail Pond. This is the only time during the year that anyone is allowed to fish in the pond. So bring your own fishing poles and equipment for this catch-and-release only event.
Richmond - June 15 - Richmond Raiders vs. Louisiana Swashbucklers - Richmond Raiders indoor football is fast-paced, high-scoring fun for the whole family!

Harrisonburg - June 9 - Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival - Concert I - Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival Concert I, with the Festival Orchestra and music by Bach, Verdi and Britten.
Monterey - June 13-16 - Old Time Fiddler's Convention - The Highland Old Time Fiddlers Convention will hold its first ever competition on June 13-16 at the Highland County Fairgrounds.
Berryville - June 14-15 - Shenandoah Riverside Music Festival - Three days of music and camping along the banks of the mighty Shenandoah River. Many bands perform a great variety of bluegrass, folk, country and americana. This is a family friendly charity event put together to raise money for Earth Korps, a non-profit in the Shenandoah Valley that removes and recycles trash out of the Shenandoah River utilizing volunteers.
Buena Vista - June 14-15 - Annual Maury River Fiddlers’ Convention - Great family-friendly weekend! Some of the best local and regional talent come to perform and compete for more than $6,000 in prizes at the Maury River Fiddlers Convention.
