Skyline Drive – a National Scenic Byway – traverses 105 miles in Shenandoah National Park and affords outstanding vistas from 75 overlooks. Discover the fall colors by hiking trail, guided horseback ride or at nearby attractions.

Day 1:

Travel into Virginia’s fabled Shenandoah Valley arriving at world famous Luray Caverns and its family of attractions. Discover Eastern America’s largest and most popular caverns noted for the profuse variety of formations and unsurpassed natural color. Hear the haunting sounds of the world’s only Stalacpipe Organ. Experience the history of America in the Car & Carriage Caravan Museum with over 140 original items dating from 1725. Children of all ages will have fun winding their way through the Garden Maze. Kids will also enjoy the rescue animals at the Luray Zoo.

Travel Skyline Drive, a National Scenic Byway, to enjoy a leisurely dinner in the Pollock Dining Room at Skyland or Spottswood Dining Room at Big Meadows Lodge.Then sit back and relax in the taproom and listen to the nightly entertainment.

Day 2:

Take in the fall colors on a guided horseback ride departing from the Skyland stables or join a park ranger for a guided hike or interpretative program.

Day 3:

Enjoy the fall scenery canoeing the fabled Shenandoah River or visit the historic homes of Monticello and James Monroe's Highland in Charlottesville. Be sure to save time to sample the award-winning wines at Barboursville or Horton.
