Capture the memories as you indulge your senses and rejuvenate your soul in the heart of Virginia's Hampton Roads region, Newport News, this holiday season.

Day One:
The kids will love the Virginia Living Museum and its mountains-to-sea live exhibits and Laser Holidays show (Thanksgiving through New Year's Eve). The Museum is an amazing place for them to connect with nature and for you to relax knowing they're having fun! Revive the troops with a snack at Wild Side Cafe and then you're off to explore the next habitat.
Nearby, your early dinner awaits! Crab Shack on the James is a locally-owned restaurant serving a variety of fresh dishes. They've even garnered a mention in Coastal Living Magazine. While you're there, take a walk out on the longest fishing pier on the East Coast.
Cap off the day with an illuminated two-mile drive through Celebration in Lights at Newport News Regional Park, part of 100 Miles of Lights. Two hundred displays (70 animated) will be as exciting for you as it is for your little ones!

Day Two:
Go to the
Peninsula Fine Arts Center, where the kids can explore at the "Hands On For Kids" gallery. It's an interactive, educational space for younger children. Care to give them some history along with their nature and art? Take a holiday flavored tour of
Endview Plantation or
Lee Hall Mansion. The kids might just run into St. Nick somewhere along the way! Treat the kids to a classic diner atmosphere at nearby
Silver Diner. They're serving up American classics, and of course, malts and pies!

Day Three:
Still have holiday shopping to do? Let the kids shop for each other or a loved one while you mark a few more things off your list, too. Between
Jefferson Commons and
Patrick Henry Mall, you'll find something for everyone.
