The Massanutten Regional Library has a special Genealogy Room that offers a very large selection of local, state and national genealogy reference books, family histories and periodicals. The library also has some unique offerings such as the U.S. Census of Rockingham County and the surrounding areas dating back to the 1790's, passenger and immigration lists, The Daughters of the American Revolution indexes, Scottish-Irish/Germanic genealogy, church histories of the local and state area, official records of the Union and Confederate Armies, and Virginia Congressional material. The library also has cemetery tombstone inscriptions for Rockingham County done in the 1960s and microfilm of the early newspapers and some of the U.S. Census on microfilm...some of which can also be accessed online if you have a library card.
