AJ Gators Sports Bar & Grill opened a 4,100 sq. ft. restaurant with an outdoor seating area in the Port Crossing retail plaza on Port Republic Road. Co-owners Jeff Sharer and Al Zuhars opened the eatery's first location in 1996 in Chesapeake. They now have 10 more restaurants around the state. This is the first one in the Shenandoah Valley. Wings are the top seller, with chicken tenders, chicken quesadillas, burgers, and sandwiches on the menu - plus a variety of entrees. Price range $9-20. The restaurant has more than 20 TVs, ready for "food and football" outings. Open 11am-2am daily.
