Franklin D. Roosevelt dedicated Shenandoah National Park in 1936 roughly one mile from the lodge at the big meadows area. So it seems fitting that one or two menu items be dedicated to him. The Roosevelt Fried Chicken and New Deal Turkey Platter for instance. Include a Virginia wine and top it off with the signature Mile High Blackberry Ice Cream Pie. The Spottswood Dining Room (mile 51.2 on Skyline Drive, one mile off Skyline Drive) serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Enjoy the ambiance of the New Market Taproom with a specialty drink and family-friendly nightly entertainment.
Open mid May thru early November. Check website - www.goshenandoah.com - for current dates.
