The Spottswood Dining Room at Big Meadows Lodge serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The lodge is open mid-May through early November and features regional favorites.
Franklin D. Roosevelt dedicated Shenandoah National Park in 1936 located roughly one mile from the lodge at the big meadows area. So it seems fitting that one or two menu items be dedicated to him. The Roosevelt Fried Chicken and New Deal Roast Turkey are two popular entrees. Include a Virginia wine and top it off with the signature Mile High Blackberry Ice Cream Pie to round out the dining experience. The Spottswood Dining Room is located at mile 51 on Skyline Drive.
After dinner enjoy the ambiance of the New Market Taproom with a specialty drink and family-friendly nightly entertainment.
