Prior to 1607, The Nottoway Indians were one of several distinct groups of Iroquoian speaking native people living in the Virginia-North Carolina coastal plain.

The Nottoway Indiasn Tribe of Virginia, Inc. will hold its 8th Annual Pow Wow in Surry, Va. on September 20 and 21, 2014.

Grand Entry: Noon on Saturday; 1pm on Sunday

Drums: Yough-Ta-Nund & Na-Ma-Wo-Chi

Activities: Intertribal Dancing; Arts & Crafts Vendors; Demonstrations, Storytelling and Children's Activities; Native American Cooking and Food Vendors; History & Genealogy; Historical Reenactments by Dr. Buck Woodard

Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, umbrellas, etc. and be prepared for a revitalizing weeknd.
