7th Annual Thomas Jefferson Wine Festival
Saturday, November 21 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Wine was a “necessary of life” for Mr. Jefferson. Join thousands of like-minded oenophiles at Mr. Jefferson’s secluded Bedford County plantation to celebrate his vision for Virginia wine and to taste the myriad offerings from 15 of Virginia’s finest vineyards at the seventh annual Thomas Jefferson Wine Festival.
Special guests vintner Gabriele Rausse and General Andrew Jackson, as portrayed by actor Frank Magargee, will join their host Thomas Jefferson, as portrayed by actor Bill Barker, in toasting the wine lovers assembled on the south lawn in celebration of the 200th anniversary of the General’s visit to Poplar Forest in November 1815; VIP ticket and seating area will be introduced at the festival this year.
The Thomas Jefferson Wine Festival is held inside large, heated tents on the south lawn, rain or shine. Because this is an adult event, there are no children’s activities scheduled. Outside food and drink are not allowed. With the exception of service dogs, pets are prohibited. VIP ticket information and a list of the participating wineries will be announced after Labor Day.
Sponsored by Virginia Tourism, Bedford, Discover Lynchburg, The News & Advance
Admission Fee: Adults $25 in advance, $30 at the door; non-tasting tickets are $10 in advance and at the door.
