Celebrate Independence Day at the place where George Washington spent his boyhood years. This year’s theme, “Let Freedom Ring” honors home and country with a variety of activities and entertainment for the entire family. At the Fourth of July at Ferry Farm, guests learn about Washington farm archaeology, enjoy a patriotic flag retirement ceremony, interact with colonial and Civil War re-enactors, visit with members of the Patawomeck tribe, and participate in educational programs, crafts and games, and hands-on activities for the whole family, including a July Fourth hat contest!

Free parking at Eagles Lodge, 21 Cool Springs Road, with shuttle service to Ferry Farm—ride a trolley to/from Eagles Lodge or the Heritage Festival downtown (handicapped parking at Ferry Farm). Food vendors on site.

$1 per person (under age 2 free). Please: no pets, coolers, or alcohol.
