In the past five years, there have been more than 140 shipwrecks, with more than 1,000 people losing their lives. Many of those who survived the wrecks faced the even greater challenge of survival at sea.
This exhibition tells the stories of those who have been cast adrift. Through dramatic videos, personal stories, and interactive displays, visitors will experience the chaos of a shipwreck, the desperation, courage of surviving, and joy of rescue.
The Mariners' Museum, conveniently located minutes from Williamsburg and a short drive from Virginia Beach, will also hold water safety seminars, lectures, and book signings regarding to Abandon Ship!
