Screenwriter, director, and actress Guinevere Turner will visit Hollins to speak about her film career, current projects, and what it's like to be an indie filmmaker. Turner burst on the scene with her groundbreaking indie feature Go Fish (1994), a film that sparked a new movement of lesbian filmmaking in the 1990s. She went on to write American Psycho (2000) and The Notorious Bettie Page (2005) with I Shot Andy Warhol (1996) director Mary Harron. Turner is also known for her writing and acting in the Showtime series The L Word. Open to the public. Reception to follow. Wetherill Visual Arts Center
