On this special afternoon author and award-winning historian Andrea Wulf will present the lecture, "Founding Gardeners: The Revolutionary Generations, Nature, and the Shaping of the American Nation." Wulf lives in Britain, where she trained as a design historian at the Royal College of Art. She has authored numerous books, with Founding Gardeners: The Revolutionary Generation, Nature, and the Shaping of the American Nation published to great acclaim in 2011.

Her most recent book, Chasing Venus, was published in eight countries. Her articles have appeared in major newspapers in the United States and Britain, and she has lectured at the Royal Geographical Society and Royal Society in London, the American Philosophical Society in Philadelphia, and the Chicago Botanic Garden. A three-time fellow of the International Center for Jefferson Studies at Monticello, she will be the 2013 Eccles British Library Writer in Residence. This event will also include a book sale and signing. Following her presentation, Wulf will sign The Founding Gardeners. Lecture ticket sales begin March 4.
