Avoca Harvest Jubilee Information:

Avoca Museum, 1514 Main St., Altavista, will hold its 15th annual Harvest Jubilee and Wine Festival from noon to 6 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 20 (rain date Oct. 4). The event will include wines from seven area wineries: Sans Soucy Vineyards, Gabriele Rausse Winery, Peaks of Otter Winery, Rebec Vineyards, Tomahawk Mill Winery, Altillo Vineyards and Democracy Vineyards. The event will also feature live music from The Steve Freeman Band and The Deanie Blues Band, an adult-supervised children's area with a bounce house and activities, local craft and merchandise vendors, food concessions (grilled chicken, hot dogs and hamburgers) and the annual Avoca bake sale. Tasting tickets are $15 in advance, available at the following locations: Altavista Chamber of Commerce, The Bank of the James (Altavista office), First National Bank (all branches) and Miller's Jewelry. Tickets are $20 at the gate. Non-tasting tickets are $10 for ages 12 and older, $5 for children ages 6 to 11 and free for children ages 5 and younger. No outside food or drinks or pets allowed.
