Join the Albemarle Charlottesville Historical Society on its 20th Annual Spirit Walk to meet memorable residents from our community’s past. Come learn their stories as they are vividly brought to life before you.

On Friday, October 24th, and Sunday, October 26th, meet former residents who now rest in Charlottesville’s Oakwood Cemetery. Officially opened in 1864, Oakwood houses the remains of many citizens, both well-known and long-forgotten.

Step back in time as you are guided through Charlottesville’s historic Court Square on Saturday, October 25th. Included in this tour is the courtroom trial of Stuart Bailey.

Dates/Times:

  • Friday, October 24th, 6:00 – 9:00 pm (Oakwood Cemetery)
  • Saturday, October 25th, 6:00 – 9:00 pm (Court Square)
  • Sunday, October 26th, 6:00 – 8:00 pm (Oakwood Cemetery)

Tours depart every 15 minutes and last approximately 1.25 hrs. Guests are encouraged to bring flashlights to Oakwood Cemetery.
