Join the Albemarle Charlottesville Historical Society for the 21st Annual Spirit Walk and meet memorable residents from our community’s past. Come learn their stories as they are vividly brought to life before you.
On Friday, October 23rd, and Sunday, October 25th, meet former residents who now rest in Charlottesville’s Oakwood Cemetery. Officially opened in 1864, Oakwood houses the remains of many citizens, both well-known and long-forgotten.
Step back in time as you are guided through Charlottesville’s historic Court Square on Saturday, October 24th. Included in this tour is the courtroom trial of Francis Morgan. Tours start at ACHS, 200 Second Street NE, Charlottesville, VA 22902.
- Friday, October 23rd, 6:00 – 9:00 pm (Oakwood Cemetery)
- Saturday, October 24th, 6:00 – 9:00 pm (Court Square)
- Sunday, October 25th, 6:00 – 8:00 pm (Oakwood Cemetery)
Tours depart every 15 minutes and last approximately 1.25 hrs. Guests are encouraged to bring flashlights to Oakwood Cemetery.
Advance tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children 10 and younger. Tickets are $15/adults & $10/children at the gate. Purchase tickets online at www.albemarlehistory.org or by phone (434) 296-1492. Tickets go on sale September 15th. Online ticket sales close on the day of the event at noon.
