Aquila Theatre presents Fahrenheit 451, based on Ray Bradbury's dystopian forewarning of a future where literature and knowledge are oppressed to the point of near extinction. Protagonist Guy Montag works as a fireman in a world where firemen no longer extinguish fires, but ignite them to burn books and the houses that contain them. Written 60 years ago, Fahrenheit 451 has been the center of censorship debates since its original publication in 1953. But despite the controversy, the novel has become a literary classic and perennial best seller, as well as inspiring stage and screen adaptations. Aquila Theatre is no stranger to great works of literature and brings new life to this cautionary tale of the importance of knowledge.
