Oysters and chowder and shrimp, oh boy! It's the Virginia Living Museum's third annual Oyster Roast. Enjoy fresh local oysters from the Rappahannock, plus all-you-can-eat seafood: oysters, shrimp, fish and hush puppies prepared by the Mathews Lions Club. There will also be chowder and vegan selections by Waypoint Restaurant, dessert, soft drinks and coffee, plus two drink tickets for beer, wine and hard cider. There will also be music and raffles. The Oyster Roast will be held rain or shine. It will move into the museum if inclement weather demands. Last year's Oyster Roast was voted Best in the 757 for Outdoor Festival by Coastal Virginia Magazine. The event is sponsored by Waypoint Restaurant, Phillips Energy and Mathews Lions Club. Proceeds support community science education at the Virginia Living Museum.
Admission Fee: $40 in advance, $50 week of the event
