The Big Walker Charity Ride (formerly the Big Walker Century Ride) is a fundraising bike ride through the country lanes and scenic byways of southwest Virginia. Century (100 miles), metric century (62 miles) and 45-mile routes are available as well as a 30-mile fun ride suitable for all ages. Routes provide multiple crossings by Big Walker Mountain Lookout. Proceeds benefit Helping Overcome Poverty's Existence, Inc. (HOPE), an umbrella human services organization delivering housing and anti-poverty programs to the southwest Virginia counties of Wythe, Bland, Carroll, Smyth and Grayson and the city of Galax.
