Coppelia is a romantic comedic ballet based on stories by ETA Hoffman. The setting is in a European village in the late 1800's. It is a story about a beautiful young girl, Swanhilda; her fiance, Franz; the doll-maker, Dr Coppelius; and the doll, Coppelia.
Thousands of residents and visitors have enjoyed SVB performances of The Nutcracker, Cinderella, Coppelia, Firebird, Romeo & Juliet, Graduation Ball, Paquita and other original works. SVB dancers perform in full-length productions, community fairs and festivals, corporate and private events, and educational programs. Today their alumni are dancing professionally across the United States and Europe.
