Music Night at Spencer Penn Centre will have another great line up of Gospel and Bluegrass bands. Starting at 5:30 the stage is free for open mic. 6:20: The Shelton Brothers; 7:10: 2 Young 2 Old; 8:00: Country Boys. Doors open at 5:00 so come hungry.
The Country Boys is a traditional bluegrass group from Patrick County, VA and Surry County, NC. The Country Boys originated more than 30 years ago with founding member and leader, Donald Clifton still in the band. In addition to Donald on guitar and vocals are J.A. Midkiff on Fiddle; Tim Bowman on banjo on vocals; Kevin Easter on mandolin and vocals; Doug Joyce on bass; and Johnny Joyce on guitar and vocals.
We will have homemade chicken salad sandwiches, homemade desserts, hot dogs with homemade chili, BBQ, pinto beans and cornbread. An extra winter treat will be homemade chicken and dumplings. You will not leave hungry.
A former school, Spencer Penn Centre is on the National Historical Register. It now serves the community as a education and special events center. With 2 large banquet size rooms, a perfect place to have weddings; business retreats; reunions and smaller rooms for smaller events.
