Celebrate Black History Month with this timeless classic program at the Virginia Living Museum about how slaves in the southern United States used a song and the stars to find their way to freedom. This poignant and inspiring tale of one family’s desperate flight to freedom is based on the children’s book written and illustrated by Jeanette Winter. The planetarium production incorporates Winter’s original artwork and music by Lovey Williams into a timeless experience that can be enjoyed by all ages. It reminds us once again of how far we have come and the value of being able to guide one’s own destiny. Admission to the show is free. Admission to the museum is not required, and is not included in the free offering.
