Appearing in Northern Virginia as part of its first tour of the United States, this orchestra (now in its seventh decade) is a centerpiece of Israeli cultural and musical life, and boasts a massive following in its homeland. The Hylton Center is honored to welcome these illustrious musicians to Merchant Hall under the baton of Principal Guest Conductor Boguslaw Dawidow, renowned for his clear conducting style, passionate energy and immense musical knowledge. This stirring program includes Carl Maria von Weber’s Overture to "Euryanthe" and Tchaikovsky’s larger-than-life Symphony No. 4. Young, award-winning Israeli pianist Roman Rabinovich joins the orchestra to tackle one of the most difficult works in the piano literature, Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3.
