What happens to animals as it becomes cold outside? Winter is the most stressful time of year for most forms of life. The key hardships are a lack of food and cold temperatures. However, don't let a reduction in activity fool you. There's a lot going on in the woods and in the water! The Winter Animal Adaptations and Survival Program- explains hibernation, migration and adaptation. Learn about how animals, birds and marine organisms all deal with the chill. This program is open to all ages but it geared for 8 to 14 year olds. Students are usually divided into teaching groups based on age.
