He's called "the poet of the violin"—and he's been named "One of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the World" by People Magazine. A Joshua Bell performance is "as close to perfection as anything on Earth. Bell's tone is a thing of rare beauty" (Seattle Times). In this unforgettable evening, Bell performs the Lalo Symphonie espagnole, and in a thrilling finale, the VSO will perform Richard Strauss' spectacular Alpine Symphony, with breathtaking images by German photographer Tobias Melle projected above the stage. "A musical magic tour with pictures ... lures the audiences into hearing the symphony in the photographs and to see the music in the pictures" (MünchnerMerkur).

Co-produced with Virginia Symphony Orchestra.
