Celebrate the 4th of July in true hometown style at the Town of Leesburg’s annual Independence Day Celebration starting with the annual Independence Day Parade, held through Historic Downtown Leesburg. This year’s parade will also feature the Annual Patriot’s Cup Competition. Back this year is the American Originals Fife and Drum Corps, sponsored by Toth Financial. This traditional corps adds a patriotic sound to the parade and is a favorite among parade viewers. The group will perform as a prelude to the parade. Plan to arrive by 9:45am to hear the fife and drums before the parade kicks off.
The celebration kicks into high gear at 6:00pm when the gates open at Ida Lee Park. Be sure to arrive early and grab a spot on the lawn for a full evening of fun, food and great music. The tunes will start at 6:30pm with the Breakfast Club, featuring classic 80’s tunes. A full food court will be on site with funnel cakes, shave ice, barbecue and other goodies. The biggest bang of the evening begins at 9:30pm when the largest fireworks show in the region will light up the sky. Choreographed to patriotic music, this light show is not to be missed.
