Attention Vertebrates! A stunning 97% of the world's organisms lack a backbone! If you are interested in spineless marine creatures, such as molluscs, arthropods, and cnidarians, then this program is perfect for you. Participants will discover the remarkable life history, behavior, development, physiology, and anatomy of the main phyla of invertebrates. A special emphasis will be placed on coastal Atlantic marine species. Fieldwork, both shore- and boat-based, and laboratory time will focus on collection and identification of local invertebrates, with opportunities for behavioral and/or physiological experimentation. Ages 16-18
