Pharsalia Folk Life Festival 10AM to 5PM.   Pharsalia is an antebellum plantation home listed on the National Registry of Historic Places and the Virginia Landmarks Register and will be celebrating its 200th year anniversary this year. As part of this bicentennial celebration we are opening our unique, private and historical home to share with you. Come join the fun and excitement that is Pharsalia!  Where the past and the present come together! There will be interpreters in costume performing 200 year old daily tasks, vendors selling period products, live music, food and drink, and guided tours of the plantation home. Special guests Jimmy Price, a master limestone plasterer who did work at the White House; Tom Burford, an heirloom apple expert; Rachel Deddens, an accomplished 1800-era cook; and Paul Saunders, a local author and historian will take visitors back in time. The public will be able to enjoy several period dishes.  One of the most intriguing is the oyster ice cream! 434-277-5231.
