Travel from Piedmont Arts to Virginia Museum of Fine Arts for the blockbuster exhibition, Hollywood Costume, where you’ll see the legendary costumes that turned Christian Bale into a superhero, Cate Blanchett into a queen and Judy Garland into an average farm girl with a big adventure ahead of her! But Hollywood Costume is hardly just an exhibition about clothes. It also explores how yards of fabric, pieces of latex and bits of ribbon, feathers and metal help create the characters that we’ve all related to—even fallen in love with—in the movies. You'll discover how the collaborative dialogue between costume designers, directors, and actors bring these costumes, and therefore, the characters portrayed, to life on the big screen. In addition, the companion exhibit, Made in Hollywood, explores the Golden Age of Hollywood with photographs of icons such as Marilyn Monroe, Marlene Dietrich, James Dean and Humphrey Bogart. Bus will depart from Piedmont Arts at 8 am and return by 8 pm. Includes a group luncheon in the VMFA's Marble Hall.
Admission Fee: $85
