The Port Hampton Lecture Series takes place on the first Monday of every month and features authors, living historians, and local history buffs discussing topics from Hampton's past as well as related historical subjects of a regional and national flavor. Memberships are available at the door!

January 7- "The Emancipation Proclamation-It's Immediate Impact and Legacy" featuring several speakers and a dramatic reading of this transformative document.

February 4- "The Race to Save the Monitor" by marine archaeologist Dr. John Broadwater who will sign his book U.S.S. Monitor: A Historic Vessel Completes Its Voyage"

March 4- "The Arrival of the First Africans to Old Point" A presentation by Calvin Pearson and Dr. Bill Wiggins of Project 1619, Inc.

April 1- Valley Thunder: The Battle of Newmarket and the Opening of the Shenandoah Valley Campaign, May 1864. Presentation and book signing by author and curator of the Douglas MacArthur Memorial in Norfolk

May 6- Saving the Last Hampton Trolley

June 3- Hampton's Rice's Fossil Pit: "Where Gigantic Whale's Ruled 23 Million Years Ago" presentation by Jane O. Rice
