The ArtBank presents the Richmond Symphony's performance of John Lithgow's book, The Remarkable Farkle McBride on Friday, March 14, 2014. Actor, Scott Wichmann brings to life the remarkable Farkle McBride, a musical prodigy. The story relates that no matter how hard he strives Farkle just isn't satisfied with the sound of any of the instruments playing alone–until he comes to the aid of the orchestra's conductor and discovers his true calling. Kimberly Schroeder takes on this musical and literary tale with a jaunty, vivacious score. Erin Freeman conducts the symphony in its journey from literary to musical story. Take advantage of the experience and share the story with family, friends, and children young in age or those young at heart! Additional support for the performance provided by the Virginia Commission for the Arts with the National Endowment for the Arts.
