A tangle of trickery drives the action in this city comedy, written for the Children of the King’s Revels. Sexual politics collidewith pecuniary matters as the Widow Taffeta, the disguised Constantia, and the ruined country girl Frances search forworthy husbands amid a herd of fools and philanderers.
