There's a significant musical storm brewing up for the late summer and it's headed our way. Musicians and lovers of folk music are gathering for a big reunion and word of its happening is spreading like wildfire.
The 2012 Gathering will reunite musicians and lovers of "Home Grown Music" from around the country. The date of this gathering is set for Saturday, August 25th at the Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library in Virginia Beach. We'll be offering workshops, mini concerts, jam sessions, and main-stage performances. It's going to be a day full of excitement, and sharing, and a time for renewal when good friends come together and new friendships are made. Come and experience the Peace, Love and Joy that music always brings!
This is a FREE event. The day begins at 10:30AM and runs till 4:30PM. We'll take a dinner break and open the doors again for the evening event at 5:45PM; show time will be at 6:00PM.
Tidewater Friends of Folk Music is celebrating our 40th year of presenting the very best in Blues, Bluegrass, Celtic, Folk, Old Time, Americana, and Singer-Songwriter in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. The mission of Tidewater Friends of Folk Music is to create opportunities for individuals and communities to celebrate, share, and sustain the vitality of ethnic and traditional arts for present and future generations.
