This spring, the Virginia Arts Festival brings great performers from around the world to stages throughout Hampton Roads, in the cities of Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, Williamsburg and surrounding communities.
As you watch and listen to the world premiere performance of the Festival-commissioned new score for the epic 1925 film Ben-Hur, created by The Police drummer and composer Stewart Copeland, you'll feel the sand fly beneath the furious wheels of the chariots. In Jasmine Guy's theatrical marvel Raisin' Cane, and Dance Theatre of Harlem's triumphant return, you'll step into Saturday-night elegant clubs and lay hands on Sunday's sun-warmed brick of churches bursting with spirit.
You'll also hear masterful musicians like violinist Joshua Bell, jazz pianist Chick Corea, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and the more than 850 performers at the awe-inspiring Virginia International Tattoo.
Admission Fee: Ticket prices vary.
