Westover,one of the most elegant and historic colonial plantations, is open for house tours during Historic Garden Week. The house was built in the first half of the 18th century by the Byrd family, and is widely known for its superb proportions. The guided house tour includes the center hall, dining room, parlor and study. Don’t miss the ghost story associated with Evelyn Byrd whose portrait hangs in the study! Westover's walled garden with eight formal squares will be in spring bloom. All the flower arrangements in the house are made from the garden. Westover out buildings, including 5 holer Necessary House with fireplace are included in the tour.
