Brentsville, founded in 1820, served as the county seat for Prince William County from 1822-1893. The site interprets the history of this old village and Prince William County during the 19th and early 20th century. The 25 acre historic park includes five historic buildings; an 1822 courthouse, 1822 jail, 1874 church, 1850 log house and farmstead and a one-room schoolhouse built in 1928. There is also a mile long nature trail that traverses the park.
Programs and events are offered periodically. The site is open every day from sunrise to sunset with self guided history and nature trails available. Tours are offered from May-October, Thursday - Sunday, 11am - 4pm.
