The museum's mission is to show agriculture's past, present and future. Four buildings house early American farm and forestry tools and equipment. There are antique tractors and a working 1930s saw mill. The staff maintains livestock and manages more then 500 acres of still-productive farmland. The museum's Steam and Gas Engine Farm Festival, always held the weekend after Memorial Day, features tractor pulls, running model trains, flying model planes, horse teams plowing, a petting zoo, crafts, demonstrations and much more. The museum provides SOL-compliant educational programs on-site and through outreach for public schools, home-schoolers, scouts, 4-H and other organizations.
