The Fredericksburg Area Museum & Cultural Center will reopen its doors on a part-time basis beginning on Friday, November 4, 2016, during its Cheers to 200 Years event celebrating the bicentennial of historic Town hall. Museum admission will be free to the public through the Grand Reopening on Saturday, April 8, 2017, when the FAMCC plans to reopen on a full-time basis.
The following hours of operation will go into effect beginning on Saturday, November 5: Friday/Saturday: Noon – 6 PM, Sunday: 10 – 3 PM
Featured exhibitions include The People’s Street: Princess Anne which highlights the PNC Legacy Collection previously housed in the National Bank Building at 900 Princess Anne Street, Pleasure’s Past an exhibition on the history of entertainment in Fredericksburg, and a portrait exhibition curated by Fredericksburg Arts Commission’s Preston Thayer. Additionally, visitors are welcome to view the Museum’s redesigned collection and textile storage areas.
