The Giles County Historical Society is dedicated to preserving and interpreting the history of Giles County. The Museum Complex is located in the mountains of southwest Virginia. Visit the 1829 Andrew Johnston House to learn about domestic life throughout the 1800s. The 1857 Doctor's Office was occupied during by Union soldiers during the Civil War and presents 19th century medicine. The Research Office contains genealogical and community information, county records, and books for those studying family and county history. The two-story Museum building includes exhibits about life in Giles County and a Museum Shop with books and mementos of your visit.
