The John S. Mosby Museum, an Italianate-Villa in historic Old Town Warrenton, has been brought back to its original mid 19th Century appearence. This historic house museum was the home of the famous "Gray Ghost", Colonel John S. Mosby, after the close of the American Civil War. It was here that the stories of Mosby, his family, and his changing politcal views after the war can be found. The historic grounds and gardens of the museum are immediately adjacent to the new Warrenton - Fauquier Visitor Center, where tickets for the house tour can be purchased.
In addition to the stories of the Mosby family, the museum also looks into the lives of the house's builder, Judge Edward Spilman, and Senator Eppa Hunton, a former Confederate Brigadier General who purchased the home from Colonel Mosby in 1877. We hope that you can join us in exploring the lives and legecies of these men and their impact on Warrenton, Virginia and the nation as a whole.
Admission Fee: Adults $5.00, Children (8-17), $3.00.
