The Lincoln Homestead c. 1800 is currently privately owned. However, there is a historical marker in front of the home and visitors are allowed to walk up the hill to the Lincoln cemetery where five generations of Lincolns are buried, including two beloved slaves, Queenie and Uncle Ned. President Abraham Lincoln's great-grandparents, "Virginia John" and Rebecca Flowers Lincoln moved from Pennsylvania to Virginia in 1768 and built their home on their 600-acre tract along Linville Creek. The President's father, Thomas, was born on this property in 1778 before his family moved to Kentucky. A historical marker and a two story yellow brick house with front porch is on the right. The Lincoln cemetery is to the left up the hill under the large oak tree.
