Located in Bedford, Virginia, the community suffering the highest per capita D-Day losses in the nation, The National D-Day Memorial honors the Allied forces that participated in the invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944 during World War II. With its stylized English Garden, haunting invasion tableau, and striking Victory Plaza, the Memorial stands as a powerful permanent tribute to the valor, fidelity, and sacrifice of D-Day participants. The Memorial is encompassed by the names of the 4,413 Allied soldiers who died in the invasion, the most complete list of its kind anywhere in the world.
Open daily from 10AM-5PM with the exception of Monday closings in December, January, and February. (Closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. Inclement weather closings possible). Admission fees apply. Group tours and school progams available with reservation. Memorial Store on site; mobility assistance available.
The Memorial is supported by contributions to the National D-Day Memorial Foundation a 501(c)(3) not-for profit organization.
Admission Fee: Admission Fees: $10.00 admission fee per Adult, $8.00 fee for Veterans and current active duty military, and Students 6-18 - $6.00 admission fee. Students under 6 are admitted free. Each paid admission includes a complimentary guided walking tour. Walking tours are scheduled daily between 10 AM and 4 PM. Please ask for the next available tour time when purchasing your tickets at the Bedford Area Welcome Center.
