Smyth-Bland Regional Library serves an area of 811 square miles and a population of 39,500 with headquarters at Marion, and branches at Chilhowie, Saltville and Bland. The library system serves all members of the community by providing recreational, educational and cultural resources and services, with emphasis placed on children and caregivers, students and those with special needs. By addressing individual user needs with the highest quality of current materials and services, the system strives to enhance reading enrichment and motivation in order to promote group interaction, community participation and public awareness of the library. Current best sellers, paperbacks, research materials, popular magazines, local and national newspapers, videos, and other audiovisual materials are available throughout the system.
