Site of the May 1864 Civil War battle that lasted 2 weeks. The battle was marked by bitter hand-to-hand fighting. Spotsylvania Court House is a continuation of the Battle of the Wilderness. Open daily from dawn to dusk. Historians lead 45 minute guided walking tours from the Bloody Angle at 1 and 4 most weekends starting in May. There are seven miles of self-guided walking tours and a five mile driving tour, brochures available at the exhibit shelter.
