The museum is housed in two 18th century homes - a dressed limestone structure known as the Marshall House, & log home referred to as the Wickham House. Displays include Civil War artifacts, local pottery, frakturs, tools, local furniture, and all the necessities of 18th, 19th and early 20th century life. The Wickham House & the Marshall House Annex are home to the over 400 piece "Baughman Family Collection." The Baughman collection is based upon the 1807 estate inventory of Henry Baughman.

2011 is being called "The Year of the Horse" at the Woodstock Museum. A special visiting exhibit from The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley in Winchester, VA, will be featured all year long. It is a 19th century folk art carved carousel horse made by James Sheetz of Edinburg.
