Thistle Cove Farm, a working Appalachian homestead, raises hypoallergenic & rare American Curly horses, Romney, Merino & rare/primitive Shetland sheep. Farm tours are by appointment only, using costumed interpreters, focus on Appalachian heritage, Civil War & agriculture. VA SOL's provided to public & home school teachers.

Sheep Shearing Day is free & open to the public. Traditional Appalachian crafters demonstrate spinning, weaving, felting, woodworking, blacksmithy, broom making, paper cutting, making 4-string mountain dulcimers & more.
